After the success in the Test Series Sri Lanka will take on mighty Pakistan in the 5 One Day Series, which begins from 30th July 2009.

Thilan Samaraweera, Malinga Bandara, Lasith Malinga and Muttiah Muralitharan has been called for ODI, chaminda vaas have been dropped from the 15man Squad against Pakistan.

For Pakistan Naved and Nazir have been recalled, Shoaib Akhtar was not picked for the forthcoming series against Lanka.

Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan in the 2nd Test by surprisingly just like the first test. Pakistan once again failed in the batting order, their batting collapsed Pakistan lost their last nine wickets for just 35 runs.

Pakistan who lost the first Test in Galle by 50 runs after a similar batting failure in the 2nd Test. Pakistan were in commanding position 285-1 just before lunch, crashed to 320 all out after the break to leave Sri Lanka a victory target of 171 for a decisive 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Sri Lanka leading the 3 test series by 1-0. Pakistan were in good form in the first test but the lost the match on fourth day of the first test match.

Sri Lanka once again will miss the service of their star bowler Muttiah Muralitharan. Muralitharan is still having treatment on a knee injury.

After winning the first test Sri Lankan Skipper Kumar Sangakkara said "We had a great final day in Galle but we all know that we were not at our best during the first three days and we have to improve,

The batsmen in particular have been working really hard this week," he added.

"We need to be more patient, be much tighter with our techniques and work through tough phases against a decent bowling attack."

Mean while Pakistan Skipper Younis Khan said after the defeat "We have youngsters in the team and I think they will learn from their mistakes," If we play to our potential in the next two tests we may square the series or win it."

Host Team Sri Lanka won by just 50runs on the Fourth Day of the First test against Pakistan.

Pakistan were in strong position, they Resumed the day with 71 for 2, Needed just 97runs with Eightwickets in hand.

But Left arm spinner Rangana Herath had an other idea, Herath was picked in the Squad after the Legend Spinner Muttiah Muralitharan was injured.

First Inning century make Yousuf made just 12runs and salman Butt with 28 was the higest run getter for the secong inning.

Pakistan lost remaining eight wickets at regular intervals. Herath calim Impressive 4wickets of just 15runs. Mendis finished with 2-27 from 10 overs and Thushara chipped in with 2-21 from 12 overs.

Sri Lanka now leads the three match Series with 1-0,
