India Clinch the Series 3-0 | Murali Equals World Record

India won the one-day international series against Sri Lanka after a 147-run win, despite Murali record India won the match comfortable.

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni praised batsmen Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag after their centuries paved the way for India to clinch a series-winning win against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Man of the match Yuvraj (117) and Sehwag (116) featured in a 221-run stand for the third wicket, a partnership which ended when Muttiah Muralitharan dismissed Yuvraj.

The 36-year-old Muralitharan drew level with Wasim Akram's record of 502 one-day wickets with that scalp, but his feat was overshadowed by India's comprehensive 147-run win.

Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene said Yuvraj and Sehwag's aggressive stand had taken the game away from his side.

After winning the Match Dhoni said beating that record will not be the driving force behind his side's thinking heading into game four on Thursday.

"We are not really looking for the record," he said.

"It's a nice position to be in, 3-0 up and the series in the hand. So it gives us an opportunity to give the players on the bench a game. That's our priority. We want everybody to have an opportunity.
